Conservation district to pursue tax request, April 9, 2019

May contain: clothing, pants, slate, soil, adult, male, man, person, coat, and hat

The Skagit Conservation District plans to pursue a tax request to help pay for the district’s services.

The proposed tax would require property owners to pay $5 per parcel, plus 10 cents per acre, a year. Owners of forest land would pay $3 per parcel a year.

For the owner of a 10-acre farm, the financial impact would be $6 a year, district manager Bill Blake said.
