2018 WACD Annual Meeting Registration...

The event we have all been waiting for has arrived – the 2018 WACD Annual Meeting! This year’s theme is “Embracing Change, Thriving through Partnerships”.  There will be discussion panels on successful partnerships between conservation districts and other entities – counties and cities, state agencies, tribes and NGOs, and public/private partnerships. The Aspen Group will be there to dive into board governance models, to help CD supervisors and staff work as effectively as possible in their partnership to put conservation work on the ground. It is that time of year again, when this year’s crop of achievements and successes needs harvesting in Washington’s conservation community. Every year, WACD recognizes special accomplishments by individuals in natural resource conservation at the WACD Annual Conference. Nominations can be made anyone. If you have questions, please contact either Awards Committee Chair Lynn Bahrych or Lori McLaughlin. Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz is reaching out to communities as fire season begins and will be hosting three town halls on fire preparedness, with a briefing on wildland fire preparations and forest health issues. June 26th Yakima Area Arboretum starting at 6 PM. June 27th Chelan Senior Center starting at 6 PM. June 28th Spokane Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture starting at 6 PM.
